Peter Chien Professor, Department of Statistics Affiliated with Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering Peter Chien is professor in Statistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His main research areas include Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification, Decision-Making under Uncertainty, Statistical Machine Learning and A/B Testing (aka, statistical design for online experiments), with applications to physical sciences, engineering, and industry. His work has been widely adopted by academic researchers and Fortune 500 companies around the world in a large array of industries. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and received a National Science Foundation Career Award and an IBM Faculty Award. He has served on the editorial boards of Annals of Statistics, SIAM/ASA Journal of Uncertainty Quantification and other statistics journals. |
